Clary Allan is a boutique interior design and project management studio led by Nicola Allan and Mark Clary, building on more than two decades of experience, including our original Interior Solutions partnership.
We create refined, high-impact interiors across residential, commercial and hospitality spaces — from private homes and boutique hotels to high-end holiday lets, conversions and country estates.
Our approach combines creative vision with practical delivery. We have led projects ranging from listed building renovations to large-scale estate transformations and are often brought in when a project feels daunting, stalled or lacking clear direction. We bring clarity, structure and elegant design solutions that elevate both the space and the investment.
After more than 20 years in Edinburgh, we are now based in Berkshire and work with clients across the UK. Whether you are a private homeowner, investor or developer, we deliver considered interiors with the same care, attention and commercial awareness we would bring to our own property.

Logan, our bi-colour German Shepherd is an integral part of the Clary Allan team. Loyal, inquisitive and always keen to be involved - he brings both personality, presence and a unique energy to our days!
He has a sharp eye (and nose) for good design and is known for keeping us on our toes. He is equally endearing as he is headstrong! Logan brings both structure and chaos to our lives!!

With more than 20 years of experience across traditional and contemporary properties, we work from initial concept through to completion. Our projects include full property refurbishments, large-scale estate projects, commercial refurbishments and carefully considered interiors for private clients.

The design process...

No two projects are the same. Whether you need full support from concept to completion or expert input at key stages, we tailor our involvement to suit your project. Our process is clear, collaborative and designed to work around you.
Stage One: Discovery
An in-depth consultation to understand you, your property and your goals. We discuss your style, practical requirements, timescales and investment level, then agree the level of support that is right for you.
Stage Two: Design Direction
We develop the overall design concept, from mood boards and material palettes to layout ideas and key design decisions. This may apply to a single room, an entire home or a larger residential, hospitality or commercial project.
Stage Three: Design Development
Once the direction is agreed, we refine the details. This can include finishes, fittings, furnishings, lighting and bespoke elements, with clear options and cost guidance throughout.
Stage Four: Implementation and Project Management
For projects requiring full support, we oversee the process from procurement through to site co-ordination and delivery. We help keep decisions moving, timelines organised and the overall vision carried through with care.
Stage Five: Installation and Styling
We oversee the final installation and add the finishing layers that bring the scheme together. The result is a thoughtful, well-resolved interior that feels complete, cohesive and ready to use.
